Wind & Percussion Student for a Day

Registration for this September event opens the summer of 2024. To set up an individual Student for a Day visit contact MUSICADMISSIONS@ECU.EDU. Wind & Percussion Student for a Day is designed for high school junior and senior prospective music majors. Registration is limited.

String Student for a Day

This annual fall event is designed for high school junior and senior string players considering a music major in college, including those who play violin, viola, cello, double bass and classical guitar. Registration is limited. Register for this October event beginning summer 2024. To schedule an individual Student for a Day event contact MUSICADMISSIONS@ECU.ED.

Voice Student for a Day

The fall 2024 date will be posted summer 2024. This event, designed for high school junior and senior prospective music majors and prospective graduate and transfer students, takes place each fall and spring. Registration is limited.

Composition Student for a Day

Registration for the fall 2024 event will open summer 2024. Attend if you are a high school junior or senior considering music composition as your college major. Guests will attend a theory class, meet composition professors and students during Composers’ Colloquium, eat lunch in Todd Dining Hall as our guests, meet with the applied professor for their area (as possible; instrument/voice) and observe a large-ensemble rehearsal. Composition Student for a Day guests are invited to stay for these School of Music evening events: Jazz Ensemble A Concert (free admission) and the ECU Opera Theater’s production of Aaron Coplands’ “The Tender Land.” The opera will be performed in nearby Washington, North Carolina, in the historic Turnage Theater.
