Audition Information 2022-2023

Membership in the East Carolina University Symphony Orchestra is by audition only. Auditions for Woodwinds, Brass & Percussion please contact your studio teacher for more information.

Auditions for strings will be held on Saturday, August 20 in Room 105 as follows:

Violin – 10:00 a.m.
Cello – 11:30 a.m.
Viola – 1:30 p.m.
Bass – 2:00 p.m.

Auditions will be held as if you are auditioning for a professional orchestra. When playing your audition you should demonstrate not only the ability to play the correct notes, but also correct style, tempo, dynamics, intonation, length of notes and rhythm accuracy, etc.

Please prepare all of the excerpts bellow.

Everyone needs to be present at the scheduled time for your instrument to determine the order that you will be auditioning.
