About the Orchestra

The ECU Symphony Orchestra, one of the University’s most prestigious ensembles, enjoys a fine reputation for being one of the highest quality ensembles of its kind in the region. The orchestra performs several times each year, playing a wide variety of literature chosen from the standard orchestral repertoire, contemporary works, music for smaller instrumentation or chamber orchestra, as well as works for full orchestra. In addition, there are great opportunities for solo and chamber music experience. The School of Music is host to a great number of guest artists that work closely with our students throughout the years. The ECU Symphony is open to music majors and to musicians who choose to major in other disciplines.
