Prizes
First Prize: $1000. The Eleanor Holter Award, donated by Drs. John Holter and Betty Williams of Greenville, NC, in memory of organist Eleanor Holter. First Prize may include an invitation to perform on the ECU Artist Series, Greenville, NC
Second Prize: $500. Donated by ECU School of Music Keyboard Alumna Dr. Bonnie G. Mani in memory of Gloria P. Mani and The Greenville Piano Teachers Association
Third Prize: $350. The Hopper Piano and Organ Company Award, donated by Mr. Vic Barfield of Hopper Piano and Organ Company of Raleigh, NC
Additional Rules for Senior Division
Contestants should prepare three solo selections, to be played from memory, chosen using the following guidelines:
- one selection from the Baroque or Classic eras
- one selection from the Romantic or Impressionistic eras
- one selection from the 20th or 21st centuries
Total playing time for the three selections is 15 minutes. There is no minimum time requirement. Contestants will be stopped after 15 minutes playing time.
Contestants must supply one score of each selection for the judge. Duplicated copies will be allowed if parents are willing to sign a waiver (available at the registration table upon check in).
The competition will be open to the public.
Each contestant will receive the judge’s written comments and evaluation at the conclusion of the competition. Any contestant who is not able to stay until the end of the competition will receive the comment sheet by email attachment.
The judge’s decision will be final.
