String Performance

ECU School of Music string students have many excellent educational and performance opportunities. For classical students, this includes the ECU Symphony Orchestra, numerous chamber music ensembles, and the nationally renowned Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival; which offers mentoring and master classes from world-class classical string performers. For classical guitar, ECU offers solo and ensemble performances, and the ECU Summer Guitar Festival.

Admission Process & Requirements

All music majors require the following steps to Admission:

  1. Apply to East Carolina University
  2. Apply to the ECU School of Music
  3. Schedule and complete an audition

Regardless of audition result, students not admitted to East Carolina University will not be able to attend classes in their intended semester. Audition before the end of February to be eligible for scholarship consideration.
