ECU Flute Studio

The ECU Flute Studio provides an intensive professional level environment tailored to each student as an individual, designed to help young performers develop as professional flutists, musicians and teachers.  Intensive individualized study also provides students with a practical repertoire of standard exercises, solo literature and orchestral excerpts.

Students in the ECU Flute Studio work toward mastery of their instrument through guided preparation on standard literature and supplementary activities that aid in the development of professional skills.  Students strive toward the full enjoyment of artistic expression in music on the flute in a wide range of musical styles and periods with the ultimate aim of advancing their technique and musicianship to their full potential, while responding to new performance environments with grace and ease.

East Carolina University flute students have published and performed in regional, national and international venues and competitions and are active in professional musical organizations.
