As Professor of Music Composition at East Carolina University, I write opera, (The Dreamer [see trailer below!], Swan’s Inlet, The Doctor on the Mound,) for symphony orchestra, (Concerto da camera for Guitar, Symphony of Spirituals, Tarantella) wind ensemble, (Uncertain Times, W S H, Passage,) and have written numerous solo, chamber, and choral works, including the saxophone chamber orchestra (Lament and Credo, Meditation, only rhythm and…). I teach composition and basic musicianship classes. I served as Chair of the Faculty from 2006-08. I am also an avid, long-time runnerx. I received my doctorate in composition at Cornell University, where I studied with Karel Husa, Robert Palmer, and Steven Stucky.
