Dr. Jay Juchniewicz is Professor of Music Education, Coordinator of Graduate Studies, and Associate Dean for Research, Reporting and Curriculum in the College of Fine Arts and Communication at East Carolina University, where his instructional responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate music education courses, ECU Concert Band and ECU Summer Band Camp.

Juchniewicz is an active clinician, adjudicator, and conductor across the United States. He has also performed as a solo pianist and member of several wind ensembles throughout the United States, England, and Australia. His arrangements for wind bands are published by Boosey & Hawkes and Timepiece Publications. Dr. Juchniewicz has presented research at numerous regional, state, national and international conferences and is on the editorial board for the College Band Directors National Association Research Committee. His articles have been published in the Journal of Research in Music Education, Psychology of Music, Journal of Music Therapy, Bulletin of the Council for Research in Music Education, Journal of Music Teacher Education, Update: Applications of Research in Music Education, and Music Educators Journal. Juchniewicz is a member of National Association for Music Education, the Society for Research in Music Education, the Society for Music Teacher Education, the North Carolina Music Educators Association and the North Carolina Bandmasters Association.

Prior to his position at East Carolina University, Juchniewicz taught at Jinks Middle School and Bay High School in Panama City, Florida.
