Dr. William (Bill) Haugeberg, Assistant Professor of Trombone at East Carolina University, teaches applied trombone, trombone choir, brass methods and other courses.

Previously he taught at the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley, Tarleton State University and Albany State University.

Bill has been a soloist and presenter at several festivals and is active in the International Trombone Association.  He performed a recital with the Connexus Trombone Duo at the 2024 International Trombone Festival, and has performed solo and chamber works at the 2022, 2021 and 2019 International Trombone Festivals.  Other festival appearances include the Big 12 Trombone Conference, South Texas Brass Symposium, Society of Composer’s Regional Conference, National Association of Collegiate Wind and Percussion Instruments National Conference, Texas Bandmasters Association Convention, Texas Music Educator’s Association Convention, Mid-South Horn Workshop and the International Horn Workshop.

As a soloist, Bill has been featured with the San Angelo Symphony Orchestra, Valley Wind Symphony, UTRGV Wind Symphony, Tarleton Wind Symphony, Florida State University Wind Symphony, Missouri State University Trombone Octet and other groups.  In addition to these featured performances, Bill has given recitals and masterclasses at universities around the country.

Bill will be recording and releasing his album Trombone Time w/ Dr. Bill in the fall of 2024 with pianist Kenneth Saxon and cellist Natalie Haugeberg.  This album features new works for the trombone, including: Brazilian Sonata by Jimmy Kachulis, a suite of Piazzolla tangos arranged by Anthony Wise, Stereogram No. 12 by David Brubeck, Two Latin Dances by Lauren Bernofsky, Sonatina by Jan Koetsier, and Air Varie by Arthur Pryo

Bill earned his Doctorate of Music from The Florida State University, Master of Music from The University of North Texas and Bachelor of Music from The University of Alaska Fairbanks.  Bill is a Willson Band Instruments Trombone Artist.
