McCaslin releases tuba CD

Tuba and euphonium professor Tom McCaslin has released his debut CD, “Inside Out” through Crystal Records. The recording includes an world-premiere interpretation of a transcription of the improvised guitar solos of Frank Zappa, given to McCaslin by legendary tubist Roger Bobo. Zappa’s widow, Gail Zappa, said, “This is definitely not for the faint of heart. This rocks my world.” The CD includes a variety of works for tuba. The CD was supported by a College of Fine Arts and Communication Research and Creative Activity Grant.
